Who is Tammy Gross?
To date, every completed screenplay Tammy has entered into contests has either won or placed. This may be attributable to good storytelling, but just to get past early rounds, the prose must be thoroughly edited and properly formatted. And a writer must have a strong understanding of the "language of screenplay." This is the secret to Tammy's success!
Before starting her own screenwriting career, Tammy worked as a copy editor of a Chicagoland newspaper in the 1980s, completed novels and short stories, and freelanced as a graphic artist and proofreader.
Until editing became full-time, Tammy's "day job" has been arranging, performing and composing music since the early 1990s. (ChartsForChurches.com)
In 2009, Tammy founded Orlando Screenwriters for local screenwriters to receive live table reads and feedback.
ProofMySpec.com launched in early 2010 as an affordable proof-editing service for spec screenwriters globally.
In 2013, Tammy founded Reel Writers Contest, a screenwriting competition that offers multi-level feedback by professionals in the industry. 2014's 2nd-prize short is currently in post-production.
Alongside her talent in fiction writing, Tammy's storytelling niche involves research and adaption of true stories of historical significance. The YA novella version of her action-adventure screenplay THE TREASURE GALLEONS was released in 2015 on the 300-year anniversary of the actual events it depicts. The book is available with author signature, at Reel Novels' Amazon page.
While under contract to write a feature film for Polaris Pictures, Tammy has several other projects in the works you will likely hear about before the end of 2017, including a screenwriting course about the Language of Screenplay.
